Washburn Family Clinic is a provider based Rural Health Clinic affiliated with Community Memorial Hospital of Turtle Lake, a Critical Access Hospital. Jane Christianson, FNP and Sue Wardner, FNP (see below) see patients at the clinic as well as cover call at the hospital.
The Washburn Family Clinic offers full range Family Practice Services including care of all chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and asthma. Routine physicals for adults and children. Well woman exams with an association with "Women's Way", which offers free Well Womean exams to women over 40 who are uninsured or underinsured. Same day appointments are available.
We offer complete lab and x-ray services, bone density screenings, ultrasounds, drug screening for workplace as well as occupational medicine and injury care.
Physical Therapy is provided by a Physical Therapist three days a week.
Surgical consults with a consulting surgeon from Mid Dakota Clinic are on a monthly basis.
Jane Christianson, FNP
Jane Christianson has been a Nurse Practitioner for 25 years, graduating from the University of North Dakota Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Program in 1983. She has had numerous years of experience in Family Practice, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and Occupational Health. She has a strong interest in treatment and care of patients with Diabetes. Her philosophy regarding patient care is to empower each patient to understand and be in charge of their own health and wellness.
Jane grew up in Velva and recently returned to North Dakota after living out of state for over 20 years. She thoroughly enjoys working in Washburn and being an active member of the community.
Sue Wardner, FNP
Sue Wardner, a native of Turtle Lake, ND practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the Washburn Family Clinic, seeing patients on Wednesdays and Fridays. Her practice also encompasses the management of swingbed patients, long term care, acute care and emergency room coverage at Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake, ND.
She obtained her nursing education in Bismarck, ND receiving a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Medcenter One College of Nursing and a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Mary. Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the North Dakota State Board of Nursing permits Sue to practice as a family nurse practitioner in the state of North Dakota. Wardner is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life support (ATLS).
